What specific opportunities and challenges do you identify in the construction field in Saudi Arabia?

The opportunities in Saudi Arabia are immense, specifically in construction. The current challenge is that currently all eyes around the whole world is on Saudi Arabia, so competition will bit tough; however, Abniya has built strong relations in the market. We have an esteemed name and the extensive experience of our team, all of whom have at least 15 years of experience in this field. We know how to do what is necessary to succeed in the market and avoid the pitfalls as much as we can.

What innovative solutions are you implementing in your projects?

Two years ago, Abniya started a small construction project related to sports and has since become a contractor working on civil projects. We now have our own mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design and build department. In addition, a year ago we completed a complete fit-out as a turnkey project, doing all the finishing and fit-out interiors for offices, complexes, and hospitals. Having our own in-house design department will create new opportunities for us. Our vision is to expand to the events side, including developing our own events, designing all the various aspects, and running the entire event from start to finish.

What projects do you have in the pipeline for the coming year?

We take pride in our ongoing projects, especially those that drive growth and innovation. One project that we are particularly excited about involves collaborating with one of our esteemed clients on what appears to be the development of the Kingdom’s largest camel farm with PIF. Currently in its initial phase, despite tight time constraints, we have received excellent feedback from the client. Recently, we successfully completed constructing the first branch for one of its trademarks, announced in late 2023. Abniya played a key role in establishing the identity of this branch from scratch.

How important are partnerships to ensuring the success and growth of Abniya?

We have structured our work into categories, dividing projects into small to medium-sized endeavors and medium to megaprojects. This division is based on the nature of the project and the entities we are collaborating with, such as developers like ROSHN or other prominent names engaged in residential and commercial developments. In the governmental sector, PIF stands out as a primary entity, and we are proud to be involved with the majority of its subsidiaries. These partnerships represent some of our top-notch clients, and we are committed to delivering exceptional results for every one of them.

Given the dynamic nature of the construction market, how does Abniya ensure the retention of its talented and skilled workforce?

Our primary goals when initiating any project revolve around delivering quality work within stringent timeframes and operating effectively under high-pressure situations. The reputation we have cultivated with our clients speaks volumes about our ability to achieve these objectives. Notably, we never engage in one-off projects with clients; instead, we foster long-term relationships, with clients frequently choosing to collaborate with us again due to our unwavering commitment to delivering on time and maintaining exceptional quality standards.

How do you train your workforce to remain one of the top 15 companies in the market?

We prioritize continuous employee training and development. It is a company policy that every employee must attain one to three certificates annually, fully funded by Abniya. These certifications cover a range of areas, from new technologies to quality management and environmental practices. This commitment to ongoing education serves as a motivating factor for employees, ensuring they remain up to date with the latest advancements in their fields and aligned with global standards.

What are the trends and aspirations shaping the Saudi construction industry?

We recognize the dynamic nature of the construction industry, where new projects emerge continuously across various fields and locations. There is no singular trend, as what may seem trendy today could change tomorrow. While many may perceive projects like NEOM and the Red Sea as prominent, there are also an abundance of developments in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Al Khobar, where new projects arise daily and garner attention. This ever-expanding landscape underscores the diverse opportunities and constant evolution within Saudi Arabia’s construction sector.

What are your expectations for the company to be achieved by the end of this year?

Our ultimate aim is for Abniya to retain its position among the top 15 names in the market and maybe all around the world.
